Dear friends, family, associates, coworkers, and all others,

On June 22, 2006, Janice Furton was taken from us after a difficult battle with Lupus.  Janice, my mother, was an amazing person who has touched so many lives throughout her 53 short years.  A dedicated educator with a passion for the sciences, Janice was committed to teaching the future leaders of America.  In addition to the sciences, Janice was passionate in her work as a paraprofessional in the Southgate School District where she worked in the library.  During her summer vacations, she often spent months volunteering at Harrisville State Park in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan.  As her son, I could never have asked for more from her.  Her enduring love and unconditional support are responsible for shaping me into the person I am today.

If you knew Janice and want to do something to support those suffering as she once did, please help the Lupus Foundation of America with the upcoming Walk to End Lupus Now.  An official team in Jan's honor has been created for the San Diego walk on May 16th, 2015.  Anyone is welcome to join this team.  Attendance in San Diego is not required. Donations are being accepted via the Lupus Foundation of America through my personal fundraising site.

Here are a few ways in which you can help:
1)  Join Team Janice Furton and help raise funds.  Sign up at the below link, contact your friends and families, and help the many people out there suffering with Lupus.
